Ask LibreOffice (Ask, AskLibO) is our Q&A site built on top of Askbot.

Ask LibreOffice

Purpose

The Ask site provides crowdsourced answers to questions about LibreOffice software and the LibreOffice project.

How to use the Ask site

The easiest way to contribute to the Ask site is to hop in and ask or answer questions.

If you're new to the Ask site, or looking for some guidance on how to get the most out of the site, please see:

Rules, Guidelines, and Discussions

We don't really have a lot of rules or guidelines regarding the Ask site yet. We have had a few discussions and have come to consensus on a few topics. For more information on past discussions and future discussion topics, see:

Formatting and Markup

The formatting on the Ask site is largely based on Markdown. There are some slight differences between some markdown variants and what is enabled on the Ask site, and just to make things interesting, the syntax in Questions and Answers is parsed slightly differently than the syntax in Comments (Bug filed with Askbot).

There are some interesting examples of formatting on the "Playground" Question, which serves roughly the same purpose as a Playground page on a wiki.

Please note that some TDF/LibreOffice content is available under the LGPL, GPL, or other licenses. For example, the Online LibreOffice Help is available under the LGPLv3. Please be clear about the license for your source material before copying information onto the Ask site.
