    How do I remove numbering from « Introduction » and « Conclusion » while they still appear in the table of contents?

    You need to create a specific style for the two titles, then attach a level to this style in the outline:

    1. create a new style, for example Header1bis, based on Header 1;
    2. in the Outline & List tab, select the outline level in the list (Level 1 usually);
    3. set it to the titles « Introduction » and « Conclusion ».

    The process for previous versions, still available, is an alternative:

    1. create a new style, for example Header1bis, based on Header 1;
    2. right click the table of contents and select Edit index;
    3. on the Type tab, check Additional Styles and click Assign styles...;
    4. in the Assign style dialog that open , select the new style Header1bis;
    5. set the required level that it should have in the table of contents (usually 1) using radio buttons;
    6. Click OK twice.

    This method is more complex to implement. Moreover these titles will not appear in the Navigator, unlike the previous method.

    If in your introduction you have headers numbered with level 2, then the first level 1 title will be number 2. To reset to 1, via the context menu (right click), select 'Restart Numbering'
