Foreword

The video ″My Presentation in Impress″ shows how can you create a own Presentation in IMPRESS under LibreOffice.

Document template master slide - from part 1

Master Slide from part 1

In part 1 of the two-part video series you have already created a master slide and saved it as a document template with the name ″202007_Advertising for LibreOffice″.

You can now use this template for the presentation.

Open IMPRESS and the document template

Open IMPRESS.

In the dialogue box ″Select a template″ search for the template (Filter: Presentations|Presentations) and click on the template ″202007_Advertising for LibreOffice″ and then on Open.

Use the opened slide to create the presentation.

Create presentation

Save presentation

First you should save the presentation.

Click on the ″Save″ icon 202007 LOHB Save Icon.png.

In the ″Save as…″ dialog box enter ″202007_My Presentation″ as file name and click Save.

Header for slide 1

In the header field, enter ″THE LIBERTY″ in capital letters.

Text for slide 1

In the text field in the middle you also write in capital letters

Select the text.

Remove the direct formatting with Ctrl+M.

In the sidebar at ″Styles|Presentation Styles″ the template ″Subtitle″ is displayed highlighted.

Right-click on the template and choose Modify….

In the tab ″Font″ select = Liberations Sans, Regular, 32pt.

In the tab ″Font Effects″ you select ″#30C877″ hexadecimal as Font Colour.

Click on OK.

Background image basics

A background image can already be integrated into the Master Slide.

The background image is then later visible in all slides, but can also be changed again per slide.

IMPRESS is very flexible with this.

Think about the best way to proceed.

Insert background image for slide 1

In the slide area, right-click on slide 1 and select Properties….

Select the ″Background″ tab and the Bitmap button.

Click the Add / Import button.

In the dialog box ″Add image″ select the image ″202007_LOENHB_Web_01.png″ and click on Open} and then on {OK.

At ″Style″, choose ″stretched″.

Select the tab ″Transparency″ and click on the selection ″Transparency″ and enter 85% and OK.

Create slide 2

Right-click on slide 1 in the slide area and choose Duplicate Slide.

Enter ″MORE THAN AN OFFICE-SUITE″ in capital letters in the header field.

If necessary, switch off the "bullet points".

In the text box in the middle write ″The community behind LibreOffice is the heart of the project″.

In the slide area, right-click on slide 2 and select Properties….

Select the ″Background″ tab and the Bitmap button.

Click the Add / Import button.

In the dialog box ″Add image″ select the image ″202007_LOENHB_Web_02.png″ and click on Open} and then on {OK.

At ″Style″, choose ″stretched″.

Select the tab ″Transparency″ and click on the selection ″Transparency″ and enter 85% and OK.

Create slide 3

Right-click on slide 2 in the slide area and choose Duplicate Slide.

Slide 3 - Header and text

Leave the header as it is.

Mark the text in the middle and write:
LibreOffice is developed by the LibreOffice community under the umbrella of the non-profit foundation »The Document Foundation« (TDF).

Create slide 4

Right-click on slide 3 in the slide area and choose Duplicate Slide.

Slide 4 - Header and text

Leave the header as it is.

Mark the text in the middle and write:
Most members of the community are volunteers.

Create slide 5

Right-click on slide 4 in the slide area and choose Duplicate Slide.

Mark the heading and enter ″I'M GONNA GET THAT

Text for slide 5

Mark the text in the middle and write:
https://www.libreoffice.org/

Select the text again and choose Font Size 60 and select the Font Colour hexadecimal #229EFF.

Now click on the ″Insert Image″ icon 202007 LOHB Insert Image Icon.png.

Select the image ″202007_LOENHB_Website_Download.png″.

Adjust the image in size and position.

Insert Background Image Slide 5

In the slide area, right-click on slide 5 and select {Properties….

Select the ″Background″ tab and the Bitmap button.

Click the Add / Import button.

In the ″Add Image″ dialog box select the image ″202007_LOENHB_Web_03.png″ and click on Open and then on OK.

At ″Style″, choose ″stretched″.

Select the tab ″Transparency″ and click on the selection ″Transparency″ and enter 85% and OK.

Save presentation

Click on the ″Save″ icon 202007 LOHB Save Icon.png.
