Talk:Documentation/Calc Functions/STANDARDIZE
SF comments
- (1) Summary. Would the following replacement be an improvement – “Calculates a normalized value which represents the number of standard deviations by which the value of a random variable is above or below the mean of the distribution. This measure is often known as a standard score or z-score.”?
- (2) Returns. Perhaps replace with – “Returns a real number which is the standardized value of the specified random variable for the given distribution mean and standard deviation”.
- (3) Arguments, bullet. Insert “or” before “equal”.
- (4) Additional details. The appearance of this equation appears unnecessarily like that on the relevant Microsoft page. Also, would it be worth referencing Wikipedia’s “Standard score” page?
- (5) Examples, 2nd example. Maybe insert “or equal to” before 0. Or do we need a separate example to show the (different) error that is generated for 0 standard deviation?
