Try to verify the technical facts presented in the document. In a few cases, this might require doing research (such as asking developers for information). However, in most cases, you can check the correctness of the facts yourself by using the application.

  • Do the names of user interface items (menus, icons, options, dialog boxes, and windows) match what appears in the application?
  • Do the steps of procedures match what happens in the application?
  • Are any steps missing?
  • Is the level of detail appropriate for the typical user (neither too much nor too little)?
