About me

I am a teacher of technics and informatics science in a primary school in Central Europe.
In spare time I am going in nature walking, fishing and driving a bike.
I am using LibreOffice to prepare teaching.
My interests are

  • databases ( Postgres, SQLite ),
  • robotics ( Arduino ).

I just found a way to connect to a SQLite database.
This is why I write here because I do not know where to write elsewhere.

Connecting to SQLite database file

  1. First I installed following packages: sqliteodbc, unixODBC.
  2. Then I edit it's configuration files as follows.

/etc/odbcinst.ini

[SQLite]
Description=SQLite ODBC Driver
Driver=/usr/lib64/libsqlite3odbc.so
Setup=/usr/lib64/libsqlite3odbc.so
Threading=2

[ODBC Drivers]
SQLite=Installed

/etc/unixODBC/odbcinst.ini

[SQLite]
Description=SQLite ODBC Driver
Driver=/usr/lib64/libsqlite3odbc.so
Setup=/usr/lib64/libsqlite3odbc.so
Threading=2

[ODBC Drivers]
SQLite=Installed

/home/pali/.odbc.ini

[ODBC Data Sources]
mysqlitedb=SQLite

[mysqlitedb]
Description=My SQLite test database
Driver=SQLite
Database=/home/pali/Irataim/AdatbazisTervezes/SQLite/TechTanmenet.db

# optional lock timeout in milliseconds

Timeout=2000

Conclusion

Now I am able to connect in LibreOffice Base, Calc to a SQLite database, or I can create a new SQLite database too with Base.
