Frequently used templates of our wiki

There are templates which we often use in our wiki for create and edit the pages. The purpose of this templates make our lives easier and expedite reading the page in edit mode. Do not hesitate to use them. ;)

Menu in a application interface

This template is used to display the menu in the application interface. It is often used in the Release Notes and articles of the FAQ.

Button on the keyboard

The template showing keys pressed on a keyboard to get the desired result.

result: Ctrl

A shortcut key can be set by vertical bar ( | ):

{{key|Ctrl|S}}

result: Ctrl + S

Dead link

If you find a link that goes to a wrong site or to a page that doesn't exist (404), use this template:

result: [dead link]

Link to Wikipedia

If you want to make a beautiful link on wikidedia, you can use this template:

{{Wikipedia|language=ru|1=LibreOffice|2=Информация о LibreOffice}}

result: Информация о LibreOffice⁠Wikipedia logo v3.svg

As you know:

  • language - it is the language of wikipedia;
  • 1 - the title of the article on Wikipedia for this language;
  • 2 - the text to be displayed.

The final attribute can be missed if you want to display the title of the article.

You can use shorter template for the English part of wikipedia:

{{enwp|1=LibreOffice|2=Information about LibreOffice}}

result: Information about LibreOffice⁠Wikipedia logo v3.svg

Link to bugtracker

Our Bugzilla instance is the basic bugtracker. The easiest way to make a link to it is to use this template:

{{tdf|68983}}

68983 is bug number.

Result: tdf#68983

You can use additional arguments in this template:

{{tdf|68983|Name|shownumber=yes|c=6}}
  • Name - a displayed text of link;
  • shownumber=yes - if set in "yes", the bug number will display beside a displayed text of link;
  • c=N - a link on definite comment N.

These arguments are not required, and you can skip them. The above example looks like:

tdf#68983 - Name

  • abi - Bugzilla of AbiWord;
  • bnc - Bugzilla of Novell;
  • boost - tracker of Boost;
  • deb - Bugzilla of Debian;
  • fate - Bugzilla of openSUSE;
  • fdo - Bugzilla of FreeDesktop;
  • gnome - Bugzilla of Gnome;
  • icu - tracker of International Components for Unicode;
  • issue - Bugzilla of Apache;
  • kde - Bugzilla of KDE;
  • lp - tracker Launchpad;
  • moz - Bugzilla of Mozilla
  • py - Roundup of Python;
  • redmine - redmine TDF;
  • rhbz - Bugzilla of Red Hat;

These templates take the same arguments than tdf.
