How do I correct a hyperlink? (if I click the text, the link is active)

By default a click on the link doesn’t activate it. You have to combine the Ctrl key with the click to activate the link. To return to the legacy behavior:

  • select Tools ▸ Options ▸ LibreOffice ▸ Security;
  • click the Options button; and
  • in the Security Options check: Ctrl-click required to follow hyperlinks.

If you prefer to remove this option, that means that a click launches the hyperlink; you have to combine the Ctrl key with the click to allow correction of the text of the link.

Warning: those methods only modify the text of the hyperlink but not the link itself. To modify the link:

  • select the Edit ▸ Hyperlink menu; and
  • modify the target or the recipient.
