How to use an AutoText whose shortcut contains a period

It is possible to insert a period into the shortcut for an AutoText. However, as the period is considered to be a punctuation mark, the software cannot interpret the shortcut: it "stops" at the period.

The associated message is: AutoText for shortcut 'xxx' was not found

The solution is simply to select the shortcut before keying F3:

copie d'écran d'un exemple de raccourci comprenant un point
Sélectionner le raccourci avant appui sur F3

Note: this technique also allows AutoTexts to be recognised when they are "stuck to" preceding or following text (without spaces).
