From The Document Foundation Wiki
- Draw a rectangle the size of a single table cell
- Note the size of the rectangle in the status bar
- Click ▸ or press ⇧ Shift + F3
- To create the first row, set:
- Number of copies to the number of columns you want
- ▸ to the width you noted earlier
- ▸ to 0
- ▸ to 0
- Enlargement to 0 (default)
- Colors should stay the same (no gradient between columns)
- Click OK
- Select the rectangles you just created
- Click ▸ or press ⇧ Shift + F3
- To create the table body rows, set:
- Number of copies to the number of rows you need
- ▸ to 0
- ▸ to the height of the original rectangle
- ▸ to 0
- Enlargement to 0 (default)
- ▸ and ▸ to a start and an end color
- Click OK
