    Create address labels

    Open label wizard

    Use the File ▸ New ▸ Labels menu to open the "Labels" Dialog.

    Label text

    Enter the text you want to read on the label.

    Address

    If you set a check mark at "Address", the address that is stored in LibreOffice will be taken.

    You can reach this address via the menu Tools ▸ Options ▸ LibreOffice ▸ User Data.

    Database

    Select a database to serve as the data source for the label.

    Sheet

    Select the database sheet with the fields to be inserted into the label.

    Database field

    To add a specific database field to the "Label text", select it and then click the arrow to the left of that field.

    The name of the database field is displayed in brackets in the "Label text".

    If desired, the database fields can be separated by spaces.

    Press the ↵ Enter key to insert a database field in a new row.

    Format

    You can either select one of the predefined label formats or define your own format in the "Format" tab.

    Continuous

    Use this to print labels on continuous paper.

    Sheet

    This prints the labels on a page in tabular form.

    Brand

    Select the desired label brand.

    Each brand has its own formats.

    Type

    Select the desired label type of the brand (company) you preset in "Brand".

    If you click on the downward pointing arrow in the "Type" selection field on the right, the available label types will be displayed in a list.

    To use a user-defined label format, first select [User] for the type and then click on the "Format" tab, where you define the format.

    "Help" Button

    If you click on the Help button, the LibreOffice help for "Labels" will be displayed.

    For info

    At the bottom of the "Format" area, the label type and the format of the label (the dimensions) are displayed.

    In the "Format" tab you define the format of the labels to be printed.

    If you have already specified the brand and type in the "Labels" tab, you will see the dimensions for the labels and the sheet.

    If you have selected [User] in the "Labels" tab, you can enter your desired dimensions here in the "Format" tab.

    Horizontal pitch

    Displays the distance between the left edges of adjacent labels.

    For custom formats, enter the desired value here.

    Vertical pitch

    Displays the distance between the top edges of two adjacent labels.

    For user-defined formats, enter the desired value here.

    Width

    Displays the width of the label.

    For custom formats, enter the desired value here.

    Height

    Displays the height of the label.

    For user-defined formats, enter the desired value here.

    Left margin

    Displays the distance between the left margin of the page and the left margin of the first label.

    For custom formats, enter the desired value here.

    Top margin

    Displays the distance between the top margin of the page and the top edge of the first label.

    For user-defined formats, enter the desired value here.

    Columns

    Enter how many labels the page should contain in width.

    Rows

    Specify how many labels the page should contain in height.

    Page width

    Specify the page width of the custom document.

    Page height

    Specify the page height of the custom document.

    Save

    When you click the Save button, the current label is saved.

    The "Save Label Format" dialog appears.

    Brand

    Enter the desired brand here or select a brand from the list.

    Alternatively, enter a term of your choice.

    Type

    Here you can enter or select a label type, alternatively [User].

    The preview field

    The preview field shows a preview of the current Label selection.

    "Options" tab

    To enter more text, do formatting, or insert images and graphics, you can synchronize content of all labels.

    To do this, place a check mark next to "Synchronise contents".

    If you activate this option and exit the "Labels" dialog using the New Document button, a small window will open with the Synchronize Labels button.

    Now you only have to work on the first label of the document (top-left).

    By clicking the Synchronize Labels button, the content from the first label will be copied to all other labels in the document.

    Distribute - Entire page

    Creates a whole page of labels.

    Distribute - Single Label

    Creates a single label on a page.

    Distribute - Column

    Specify how many columns the labels should appear in on the page.

    Distribute - Row

    Specify in how many rows the labels should appear on the page.

    Distribute - Synchronize Contents

    Allows you to edit only the first label and click the Synchronise Labels button to update the contents of all remaining labels on the page.

    In Document - Synchronise Labels

    The Synchronise Labels button is only visible in the document if you selected the "Synchronise Contents" option in the "Options" tab when creating the labels.

    The contents of the first label at the top left will be copied to the rest of the labels on the page when the Synchronize Labels button is pressed.

    Printer

    Displays the name of the currently selected printer.

    The Setup… button opens the "Printer Setup" dialog.

    Make sure the setting in the View ▸ Field Names menu is correct. It is a toggle switch.
