Documentation/Android

    From The Document Foundation Wiki

This page contains documentation and basic information regarding the use of LibreOffice for Android.

(TODO: this information should probably turn into an OS-specific manual, or into sections of the component-specific manuals)

    Basic Information

See Android for some basic information about LibreOffice on this platform.

    Installation

You may run the LibreOffice Viewer on Android by downloading and installing an APK from the Google Play Store. While builds are available on F-Droid and the TDF servers, these are both woefully out of date as of 2020-01-05. See Android#Builds for more information.

    Basic Use

Today, the LibreOffice Viewer has limited functionality. Many features contained within the desktop version of LibreOffice have not yet (or not yet fully) been implemented on Android. Nevertheless, LibreOffice Viewer offers basic editing capabilities, like modifying words in existing paragraphs and changing font styles such as bold and italics.

    Settings: Experimental mode.

Editing is still an experimental feature which has to be enabled separately in the settings, and is not stable enough for mission critical tasks.
