How to change the default format for saving documents?
Select Tools|Options from the menu bar of any open LibreOffice window. Expand the Load/Save option. The default format for saving documents can be changed under General.
First select the type of document in the Document type drop-down menu and then select the format you would like in the Always save as drop-down menu. Seven (7) document types are listed:
- Text Document
- HTML document
- Master document
- Spreadsheet
- Presentation
- Drawing and
- Formula
The Load/Save option also includes a Microsoft Office section, which simplifies settings for compatibility with Microsoft Office. Select this section, and then by simply checking the check-boxes you can take care of loading, converting and saving files. (Very useful if you are collaborating with Microsoft Office users.)
