Edit ▸ Select all doesn’t work when the document starts with a table

This problem has been fixed since version 4.2.

For earlier versions when a document begins with a table, the Edit ▸ Select All command (or its Ctrl + A short cut) doesn’t work as expected:

    • only the first cell of the table is selected instead of the whole document; and
    • the whole table is selected if you redo the command.

    It’s an old bug: tdf#37606

The workaround consists of inserting (temporarily) a paragraph before the table. The quickest way to do that is:

    1. put the cursor at the beginning of the document with Ctrl + Home; and
    2. press ↵ Enter to insert a paragraph before the table.
