Talk:Documentation/Calc Functions/AVERAGEIF
SF comments
- (1) Arguments. In the first paragraph is it worth clarifying that the meaning of this argument is dependent on the existence of the Average_Range argument?
- (2) Arguments. Are there any specific errors arising from invalid Criterion arguments?
- (3) Additional details. The note “This function is part of the Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) standard Version 1.2. (ISO/IEC 26300:2-2015)” is unnecessary and already covered by the reference in the ODF standard section.
- (4) Examples. The warning “In all examples below, ranges for calculation contain the row #6, which is ignored because it contains text.” does not warrant the status of warning in my opinion. I would just include the statement as a normal paragraph.
- (5) Examples. Could we add some value (compared to the Help page) by including at least one example of using this function with a wildcard search? Note that wildcards are different from regular expressions.

- The Average_Range is an optional argument hence stating its dependence in general doesn't seem logical for the case when user opts out of it.
