Talk:Documentation/Calc Functions/COUNTIF
SF comments
- (1) Returns. Presumably, it will be a non-negative integer. Suggest delete “the range” and change “qualify” to “satisfy”.
- (2) Arguments, general. No mention of what happens if invalid arguments are passed.
- (3) Arguments, first paragraph. Change “are” to “is”?
- (4) Arguments, second paragraph. As I understand it, this argument may also be a reference to a cell which contains the number, expression, or character string.
- (5) Additional details. No statement about whether the behaviour of this function is affected by the setting of the option “Search criteria = and <> must apply to whole cells” in Tools > Options > LibreOffice Calc > Calculate.
- (6) Examples. I would like us to add some value (compared to the Help) by adding examples of the use of regular expressions and wildcards.
- (7) Examples, general. Where the text currently reads “having … in them” it would read better if you changed “having” to “containing” and deleted “in them”.
