Talk:Documentation/Calc Functions/HLOOKUP

    From The Document Foundation Wiki

I must admit that I have been left a little bewildered after reading this page – the material given did not help me understand the function. Some of the text simply does not make good sense and there is too much ancillary information that confuses and distracts the reader, rather than clarifying the function’s behavior. I also dislike the use of a meaningless example; I am sure we could come up with something a little more interesting and realistic (how about a four-row table that lists information about the first ten elements of the periodic table; maybe Element – Symbol - Atomic Number - Relative Atomic Mass)? Also, I would like to see examples of using wildcards and regular expressions. I will revisit this function and VLOOKUP when I have finished reviewing others.
