Talk:Documentation/Calc Functions/WEIBULL
SF comments
- (1) Summary. Suggest replacing with - “Calculates values for the probability density function or the cumulative distribution function for the two-parameter Weibull distribution. The two-parameter Weibull distribution is a continuous probability distribution that is characterized by a shape parameter and a scale parameter, which are referred to as alpha and beta respectively within Calc but may have different designations in other sources. Depending on the settings of the shape and scale parameters, values of the probability density function may be greater than 1 for the two-parameter Weibull distribution.”
- (2) Returns. Suggest replacing with – “Returns a real number which is a value from the probability density function or the cumulative distribution function of the specified two-parameter Weibull distribution.”.
- (3) Arguments, Alpha. The text “It is the shape.” is repetition and should be deleted.
- (4) Arguments, Beta. The text “It is the scale.” is repetition and should be deleted.
- (5) Arguments, 1st bullet. Insert “or” before “equal”.
- (6) Additional details. Change “If C is 0, WEIBULL calculates the probability density function” to “For the probability density function”. Change “If C is 1, WEIBULL calculates the cumulative distribution function.” to “For the cumulative distribution function”. In the final bullet, “Weibull” should have a preceding “the” and should also start with an upper case “W”.
- (7) Examples, general. Could we include an example that gives a PDF value greater than 1? Perhaps =WEIBULL(1,5,1,0) would do?
- (8) Examples, 1st and 2nd examples. Change “weibull distribution on” to “Weibull distribution for”.
- (9) Examples, 4th example. Insert “or” before “equal”.
