Returns the square root of (PI times a number).
Returns a real non-negative number which is the positive square root of (PI multiplied by Number). The resultant value is between 0 and ∞, i.e. [0,∞).
Number is a non-negative real number,or a reference to a cell containing that number by which pi is multiplied, further calculating the positive root.
If the Number is negative, the function returns an error value.
- This is equivalent to SQRT(PI()*Number) where PI() is a mathematical function whose value is nearly 3.141592653589793238
- The GIF below illustrates the SQRTPI function.
|=SQRTPI(2)||positive square root of 2*PI or 2*π||2.506628274631|
|=SQRTPI(-2)||positive square root is not defined for negative number so the function returns an error value||Err:502|
