    How do I rename/move a page?

    Warning.svg

In naming pages, you must respect the rules of the multilingual wiki!

If you want to modify the title appearing at the top of the page, see Faq/Wiki/007.

Normal users can not delete pages or move pages without leaving a redirect (see Faq/Wiki/010). However, they can move a couple of pages per day while leaving redirects.

    Steps to achieve this:

    • navigate to the page you want to rename
    • hover with your mouse over the  ▸ Move tab in the top right
Wiki menu entry for moving a page
    • click Move
    • edit the form fields:
    • new title for the page (unless you know what you are doing, don't change the namespace),
    • explain the reason for the rename
    • if subpages exist, they will also be renamed/moved, if you check Move subpages
    • confirm by clicking on the button Move page.

The advantage is that in the case of a renaming, the old name is kept as a redirect to the new name.
