Media Support/OS X/Video Tests

    From The Document Foundation Wiki

This page describes Video Tests that we've run with LibreOffice on macOS to test our media support.

HINT: For a summary of supported media types, look at the tables on the Media Support/Summary page.

    Data

This page is all about data. For more general information see

    Video Formats Test Results

REMEMBER: On macOS we use QuickTime/(AVFoundation) for video playback. If the framework doesn't support video playback of a particular codec, LibreOffice probably won't, either.

Notes from Alex's testing in tdf#79546:

    1. Start Impress
    2. Insert a video file
    3. Start slideshow display

Expected: video should play and be visible with sound

Test 3: Removing QuickTime integration from LibreOffice

    Alex writes:

    Test:

       files from tdf#79546.

CONCLUSION: Removing the libavquicktimelo.dylib library from the LO application bundle does not correctly fallback to the libAVF library.

    Video: 4.4.0.1

    • macOS 10.9.5 x86-64
    • Testing with TDF build of LibreOffice 4.4.0.1 RC
    • Using the system's QuickTime Player Version 10.3 (727.4)
    • (As expected) Trying to install WebM or XiphQT Components support into QuickTime does not appear to have an effect on the codecs supported by QuickTime
