The first annual LibreOffice project's meeting, the LibreOffice Conference, will be held in Paris from October 12th to 15th. It will be the event for those interested in the development of free office productivity software, open standards, and the OpenDocument format generally, and is an exciting opportunity to meet Community members, developers and hackers. The Conference facilities are spread over two locations:

    • La Cantine: La Cantine is an unique meeting place for innovators, researchers, IT entrepreneurs and FOSS projects. La Cantine is the nexus of many ongoing IT projects and innovations around Paris.
    • IRILL (Free Software Research Institute): This institute is a research laboratory of the French University Paris Diderot and the INRIA. It has conference rooms and will host the ODF Master Class and the Marketing Track.

Call for papers page (to be created with a backend)

Welcome to the LibreOffice Conference's call for papers. This year we have a five distinct tracks , but only four will be open for the call for papers. The fifth one, the "Technical Bird of Feather Sessions" does not need a call for papers as it will be a series of 10 minutes quick presentation and discussions. Interested speakers will be able to register themselves on the spot. We have designed document templates for each of the remaining tracks and each person interested in proposing a conference will have to submit this document under the ODF format and following the template available for download  here. The final deadline for the conference proposals is on Friday the 22nd. No proposal will be accepted after that date. Each proposal will be evaluated by a committee of community members. You will receive a confirmation that your conference has been accepted or that your proposal has been refused. You may submit several proposals.

    • If you are interested in submitting a conference proposal for the Development Track upload your document here
    • If you are interested in submitting a conference proposal for the Community Track upload your document here
    • If you are interested in submitting a conference proposal for the Marketing Track upload your document here
    • If you are interested in submitting a conference proposal for the ODF Master Class upload your document here

    Materials

We do have a "Conference Kit" wiki page where we are trying to collect all items needed for a conference as well as a catalogue (links) of previously created LibreOffice materials.
