    Create lined sheet

    Open Writer.

    Set spacing for lined

For a DIN A4 sheet, the dimensions for height = 29.7 cm and width 21 cm.

For different line spacing for different sheets you need one Page style each.

    Calculation of the line spacing:

    25 lines per sheet equals 29.7 cm / 25 = 1.188 cm
    26 lines per sheet equals 29.7 cm / 26 = 1.1423 cm
    27 lines per sheet equals 29.7 cm / 27 = 1.1 cm
    28 lines per sheet equals 29.7 cm / 28 = 1.0607 cm

    Create Page style lined 25

As an example, create a Page style for the lined sheet with 25 lines.

In the Sidebar at Styles F11 click on the "Page style" icon.

Right click on the Page style "Default Page Style" and choose New from the context menu.

In the "Page Style: Untitled1" dialog, select the "Organiser" tab.

In the "Name:" field, enter a name for the Page style, for example "Lined 25".

In the "Next style:" field, then select "Lined 25" so that all further sheets also receive this Page style and are thus lined.

Now click on the "Area" tab and click on the Hatch button.

In the Hatch area, the lined Hatch is usually already selected in the upper left corner, otherwise click on it.

In the middle of the dialog you can select the Options you want.

For the "Spacing", enter the value of 1.188 cm calculated above for 25' lines.

For "Line Colour" choose "Light Blue 3", for example.

    Click on OK.

    Insert lines on the sheet

Now double-click on the Page style "Lined 25" so that the lines for the blank page are applied.

    Optical margins left and right

As needed, you can still set the Page margins for the text border in Writer.

This is also done in the new Page style "Lined 25" in the "Page" tab in the Margins area.

If you still want to visually emphasize the Page margins on the left and right, you can use simple lines.

Click the "Show Draw Functions" icon in the "Standard" toolbar.

In the "Drawing" toolbar that is now visible, click on the "Insert Line" icon.

The cursor now takes the form of a Crosshair.

Draw a short vertical line in the middle of the sheet by clicking-hold-dragging the cursor on the sheet (from top to bottom) while pressing the ⇧ Shift - key and release the mouse button.

Press the ESC key to exit the drawing mode.

Select the line and choose in the Sidebar at "Properties" in the area Positione and Size, the "Height" with 29,7 cm.

In the Line area you can still choose the colour, for example red.

    Right click on the line.

Choose Position and Size from the context menu.

Click the "Position and Size" tab.

In the Position area, select each of the following: "Horizontal:" = From left
    "by:" = 2.00 cm
    "to:" = Entire page.

    Click OK.

With the line selected, press Ctrl + C.

    Unmark the line with ESC.

    Press Ctrl + V.

Use the Right arrow key to move the line to the right edge of the page.

Move the first line to the left accordingly.

Save line sheet as Document template

Enter a name for the Document template, for example "A4 - lined".

Still select the template category (folder) and click the Save button.

It is assumed that the checks should be square.
