    How to uninstall an extension?

There are 3 different possibilities to install an extension (bundled, shared or user); the way to uninstall it depends on its installation method.

    • Open the Extension Manager on the Tools ▸ Extension Manager menu
    • Search for the icon on the right of the extension's name:
      • if there is a padlock: the extension was provided with LibreOffice installation (it's a bundled one)
      • if there are two padlocks: the extension is shared between all the users of the desktop
      • if there is nothing : the extension is only available for the current user (it's a user one)

    Extension provided by the installation

To uninstall a bundled extension, you must have admin rights on the computer. There is two ways : the soft one and the brutal one. For the soft method:

    • Restart the installation program (setup)
    • Go to the next step and select Modify
    • Expand the tree to display the Optional Components:
      • Spellcheckers are at the beginning
      • other extensions are at the end
    • For each extension or spellchecker you want to remove, select This component will not be available.
    • It is also possible to deselect the spellcheckers all at once
    • Validate the next steps.

The second method is brutal, but no contraindications have been proven yet

    • Close LibreOffice, including the quickstarter.
    • Access the LibreOffice installation directory, then the share/extensions directory.
    • Delete the extension directories you want to remove
    • Restart LibreOffice and it's done!

    Shared extension

You need to have admin rights on the computer to remove a shared extension.

    • Open the Extension Manager using the Tools ▸ Extension Manager menu.
    • Select the extension you want to remove.
    • Click on the Remove button.
    • Confirm.

If the Remove button doesn't show, you probably do not have the admin rights on the computer.

    User Extension

    • Open the Extension Manager using the Tools ▸ Extension Manager menu.
    • Select the extension you want to remove.
    • Click on the Remove button.
    • Confirm.

The Disable button allows you to deactivate an extension without removing it. Later, if you want to use the extension again, just click the Enable button, without the need to reinstall it.
