    Agenda + Minutes

    Minutes:

Content from the meeting itself ("the minutes") will be displayed in blue boxes like this.

    Before we Start

A few minutes before we officially start, we'll try to have a few people in the IRC channel:

    Start

    IRC Minutes

We'll touch on a few metrics such as UNCONFIRMED bug count and regressions, and then we'll have each person in the meeting bring up whatever QA topics they'd like to address.

Some people like the current meeting time on Wednesdays, but if there's enough interest in change, we'll do it.

    COMPLETED ACTION ITEMS

    New topics

    • Suggestion from Markus about preventing regressions
      • Simple but interesting task
      • We have a calc document that contains some basic features that every single import format supports
        • (sc/qa/unit/data/ods/universal-content.ods)
      • Useful, but limits what we can add to that document
      • The Task: generate a more complex document that is only used for ods, xls, xlsx and maybe a few other formats that support these features as well
        • Format: One feature per sheet
        • Desired Features:
          • all different reference types (double, single, arrays, external single, external double),
          • some common formulas,
          • conditional formatting,
          • cell formats,
          • cell styles, and
          • whatever else can be found in all three formats
      • Usage: it's used in our automated import test
      • Go with one document per format
        • e.g. the one for xls can be found at sc/qa/unit/data/xls/universal-content.xls
      • Easiest approach: is most likely to start in excel with xls and xlsx and import it in calc and export as ods
        • [Markus is] mostly interested for now in the features that are common
        • we have again some nasty xls formula issues that should have been detected much earlier

    • Idea I had: is there an existing tool that can take ODS files apart and mix-and-match sheets?
      • (maybe we could do something programmatically with Calc?)
      • that way we'd only have to write each test once, and could use the tool to assemble sheets 1, 3, 4, 9 and save as XLS, or sheets 1, 2, 5, 9, 11 and save as XLSX.
      • Perhaps the feature sets supported by ODS, XLS, and XLSX are similar enough that this isn't per-se necessary
