    New pages

    Hey Floris,

why do you create new pages? If you want to translate existing pages, why don't you use the translate-button at the top instead of creating new pages?

    Best regards,

    Dennis Roczek (talk) 2021-01-11T12:30:30 (UTC)

Hello Dennis, I'm new to this. I used the Translate button and got this set of edit boxes with translatable text. I should have read the Help first, I suppose, but it was late when I started, so I forgot.--Floris v (talk) 2021-01-11T12:44:40 (UTC)

Floris: now I'm confused. Dennis said that you created new pages instead of using the Translate button. Now you seem to say you used the Translate button to begin with. Can you confirm what is real course of events here? --Beluga (talk) 2021-01-11T13:40:19 (UTC)
I was answering a question on the Dutch language section of the Ask site for LibreOffice, here: https://ask.libreoffice.org/nl/question/286847/spellingscontrole-libre-writer-werkt-niet-meer/ and found a link to the user profile page here, with the Dutch page still entirely in English. So I thought, okay, I have some time to spare, let's go for it. I'm fairly sure that I did hit Translate. Or I hit the link at the top of the page: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/index.php?title=Special:Translate&group=page-UserProfile&action=page&filter=&language=nl = and now that I look at my history, I see what you mean. Well, those pages are made whenever I hit Publish translation after completing a section, not by myself. Maybe it's because the page contains a lot of stuff that I can't access at all, like the headings for Windows, Linux and Apple.--Floris v (talk) 2021-01-11T13:55:05 (UTC)
Thanks. Everything seems to be working normally, so maybe it is some change in how the newly-upgraded MediaWiki displays stuff. --Beluga (talk) 2021-01-12T06:35:00 (UTC)

    Translation Work

    Hey,

for the case you need "more work": there are many FAQ pages and ReleaseNotes pages, which still need to be translated. There is also Special:Translate although I do not like that page as it is not grouping the translations for the page itself.

If you need assistant, simply ping me.

    Best regards,

    Dennis Roczek (talk) 2021-01-13T18:34:17 (UTC)

Thank you. I see that there's a delay with the release notes, but I'm not sure that many Dutch people will read them, anyway.
It's odd. I've been hanging out on OpenOffice forums for about 15 years now, and in all that time found that Dutch people who help other Dutch people using OpenOffice or LibreOffice, all speak English fairly well. It's as if speaking English is required for being able to work with office suites.
I don't understand the second page, but that's probably exactly what you dislike about it, that you don't see the pages that the fragments belong to. I already visited the Dutch language main page and that didn't help either. But it's okay, I'm not in a hurry. --Floris v (talk) 2021-01-13T18:57:27 (UTC)

    Translation of UserProfile page

    Hi,

I did some manipulation of the UserProfile page to restore old translation work, however I didn't realize that you've already translated the new text on April 18th, and my changes overwrote your work.

I've now copied your translation back to the Dutch page, however since I don't speak Dutch I'm not sure I got everything right. You probably want to have a look at UserProfile/nl#Handmatige_procedure_.28alle_versies.29 to check everything is OK.

    Sorry for the inconvenience,
